Here are a few questions to think about before our dinner:

  • How does race effect our interactions with each other?

  • How did your upbringing shape your views on race (for better or worse)? Have your racial views evolved from those of your parents?

Please let us know if you have any questions,

Pre-DinnerTable Email Template #2

I hope this email finds you well.  Thank you for choosing to participate in Dinner Table OKC.  We're grateful for your interest and excited to share a meal with you!

My name is Kim Bandy and my husband, Brad, and I will be serving as Ambassadors alongside our friends Lee and Wanda Roland.  Our Dinner Table OKC meal will be held on Friday, May 15th @ 6:30pm at the Roland's Home (address here).

We'll simply be gathering for dinner and conversation.  A couple of days before the dinner, we will send you a few questions that will be used to kick off conversation. No need to be over-formalized in your response, but we'll send you the questions so you can have some time to think a bit before you come.

Please respond to this email with your RSVP.

If you cannot attend this date, let me know and you'll receive an invitation from another Ambassador for a different time.

Thanks again!

Our initial Dinner Table OKC gathering held great conversation and a wonderful time of getting to know each other.  Much of what we talked about was hard, tender and vulnerable.  But it was also so good and beautiful to begin to learn each other's stories and experiences.  We all felt the best route to take going forward is to spend time getting to know each other more and inviting others into the conversation.  We continued to recognize the key, crucial and primary role relationships will and must play in moving toward reconciliation in our city.

The Roland and Bandy families love to make space to engage in conversations, relationships and community.

If you were unable to attend the first dinner, we'd still love for you to join us for the upcoming gathering.  We would love to meet you and get to know you over the dinner table. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Dinner Details:

Cook-Out at the Roland Home (address here

**Please rsvp via email to me by June 20th so we can be sure to have plenty of food.

We're excited to see you all!

First, Shannon, Brent, Rosie and I would like to thank you for taking the time to attending our Dinner Table OKC Event. We really appreciate the fact that you shared your knowledge, insight and experiences on different racial issues with the group. I believe that our meeting convinced us that we all can be better people and there is still a lot of work to do!

Also, we really appreciated everyone's stories, your advice which, in my opinion will make us all better people. I know, Shannon, Brent, Rosie and I have already started thinking of ways to make an even more positive impact in my family, friends and in my community, which we feel will be invaluable for all of us moving forward.

Please let any of us know if there is ever anything we can do in the future to assist you or if you would just like to keep in touch, just to network. It is rare to find people, who we feel is as generous enough to take the time to address these pressing racial issues.

We wish you all the best, and will keep each of you in our prayers.

Shannon, Brent, Rosie and Dom
